I'll start--I'll name a fiber material I use (and source if possible) and the next person has to tell whether they love it, hate it or never tried it, then list a material for the the next person to comment on.
(Be sure to go to the last reply at the bottom of the page, then respond to that post, not my original one)
I have tryed sammy , and I love it ! it spins up soft and fuzzy . I spin it just as at comes off the dog ,this works only if the dog is clean and not matted. As for bamboo I found it slick but not to hard to work with , mine was raw .I have tried soysilk top and loved it ! janet ollivier
i haven't tried silk cocoons but it is on the list. i have a ton of cotton roving and hate hate hate spinning it even. way too stressful, but i'm starting to enjoy spinning it thick and thin slubbed and then plying with something else. it does make for a soft yarn.--julianna
duh, forgot to mention another fiber. how about french angora, i have 2 and love the way it feels. also bought some cashmere but haven't tried to spin it yet. saving it for something special. for now i tell my kids it's my "bag of happiness" and just feel it from time to time.--julianna
