For spinners who explore handspun yarn as an artistic medium, where yarn plays a role in the spheres of form & function. Please share pix of your art yarn creations, communicate the concept / ideas behind the yarn, & your creative process.
I started knitting a few years ago in order to have one thing in my life that would stay at the same stage of completion until I came back to work on it again (I'm a SAHM, so my days seem to revolve mostly around food prep, laundry, cleaning, childcare- things that start over several times a day). Then I began to spin my own yarn (apparently I'm fascinated by spinning wheels, because I also cycle for transportation), and finally dye my own fiber. On the Ravelry I'm threeonabike, and on ArtFire and Twitter it's FiberCycle
me too! I love spinning and handpainting my own rovings and there's so many talented interesting spinners out here! I love seeing what others produce, it's such a wonderful craft to keep alive!xtabs
